Sustaining Digital Resources … in Chicago!

The Business Model “Bootcamp” for Digital Project Leaders
Northwestern University, August 8-10, 2016

Sustaining Digital Resources, the Business Model “Bootcamp,” will take place this summer from August 8 – 10, hosted by Northwestern University Libraries at the campus in Evanston, just 30 minutes outside of Chicago and easily accessible by public transit.

This intensive workshop, which past participants have described as a “mini-MBA where the topic is your project,” takes participants through the steps to developing a strong business case for their initiative. Sessions focus on identifying goals, defining the value of the project in light of its intended audience, understanding the motivations of your intended audience, exploring the external environment in which the project operates, developing a budget, and identifying the most likely funding sources.

Check out these slides for more detail on our definition of sustainability and some useful course details.

This 30 minute webinar includes a short introduction to sustainability and an overview of course structure and aims:

The program is intended for anyone responsible for leading an innovative product or service. Past participants have included PIs from libraries, museums, archives and historical societies, faculty PIs of grant-funded software or content-based initiatives in all disciplines, and publishing professionals. The program is valuable whether participants are formulating a plan for an upcoming grant, or ready to create or revisit their strategy for further support.
